Fortrose Cliffs
Distance from Invercargill: 25 min drive
Walk to Site: 5 mins from where you park on the cliffs, or 10 mins on the beach
Dogs: Yes
Amenities: None
Notes: Need to go here at low tide to walk around to the cliffs. A great spot at sunrise/sunset! Need good shoes are beach is quite soft.
Purakaunui Falls
Distance from Invercargill: 1hr 30 min drive
Walk to site: 15 minute walk through the forest. Steep downhill & stairs at the end.
Dogs: No
Amenities: Toilet at Carpark
Notes: Can be quite limited for space if the falls are quite full. Good for bride & groom photos. Not really suitable for bridal parties.
Purakaunui Bay
Distance from Balclutha: 45 min drive
Walk to site: 5 mins, you can park right at the beach
Dogs: On Lead Only
Amenities: Toilets
Notes: Can park and walk straight onto beach. Prefect for bridal parties. This is a popular local camping spot.
Kaka Point Beach
Distance from Balclutha: 15 min drive
Walk to site: 2 min from roadside
Dogs: Yes
Amenities: None
Notes: Can park and walk straight onto beach. Prefect for bridal parties.
