Catlins // River Ridge Retreat Beach & Waterfalls Wedding

Jo & Ziggy managed to dodge all of the rain on Saturday and have the most spectacular wedding out at River Ridge Retreat in the Catlins!

So it’s always a little nerve wracking when you are photographing another photographers wedding (Jo has @saltandshe.creative) but it really was the dream day.

The guys got ready on site at River Ridge, while Jo & her gals got ready at a beautiful property in Owaka. They met at Pūrākaunui Bay for a first look, where Ziggy also gave Jo a pounamu as a gift.

They had a great time popping bubbles and goofin around on the beach with the crew before we ventured off to the waterfalls. The Pūrākaunui Falls are always a crowd pleaser - except for the walk down where Ziggy almost stacked it and took everyone out down the stairs! 😅

We finished up getting some family photos with the couples two boys in the tree lane just down from the venue. With all of the photos done, it was time to get these two married!

We managed to beat the rain and have the ceremony down by the river outside. It was a beautiful ceremony with Ziggy’s Cousin as celebrant! There was a shower of confetti to introduce the Hewers, before drinks, snacks & lawn games.

Speeches and the reception commenced - before dinner and party time! They even had a boat race after the first dance, which will have totally kicked off that dance floor haha.
