Queenstown // Jack's Point Golf Course Wedding

Meg and Micah met each other through mutual friends 3 years ago while living in Lake Hayes and have been inseparable ever since. Micah is a Golf Pro at the Jacks Point and Meg works in PR/Marketing for Kinross Cottages and Winery. They have an adorable dog called Sam and have just bought their first house together in Cromwell.

The wedding day had the forecast that every bride dreads. Torrential rain.

They had the most stunning location for the ceremony but with the low-lying fog and rain we woke up to you wouldn’t even be able to see 10m ahead of you, let alone the mountain and lake views!

Amy and I stopped at Mountain Warehouse to get new long waterproof jackets and covers for our cameras on the way to meet the girls where they were getting ready in Gibbston Valley.

En route Meg let us know she was no longer getting ready at Mt Rosa because 10 minutes into their make up and hair starting there had been a power cut!

So thankfully they had secured a cottage at Kinross to get hair and make up done.

When we arrived, Meg was SO chilled out! It was pouring with rain; the power was out but she didn’t care because in a few hours she would be saying her vows and marrying the love of her life no matter what.

Hair and make - up complete we went up to the lodge for nibbles, champagne, getting dressed and a first look with Megs Dad, Nick.

As we left for Jack’s Point the rain started to clear and we arrived to dramatic clouds and moody skies but an outdoor ceremony!

Micah had got dressed and ready at the venue with his brothers and friends by his side.

It was a beautiful ceremony lead by Micah’s Dad as the celebrant. Heartfelt vows surrounded by the ones they loved and ending with a shower of petals and hugs as they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.

After family photos, drinks and nibbles the bridal party commandeered a couple of golf carts and we took off in the search of the photo locations we had scouted a few weeks earlier.

It was such a fun afternoon and went so fast. We started off in the long golden grass overlooking the lake and finished on the rock that has views down over the golf course and back towards the Remarkables.

The reception was held at the Jack’s Point Clubhouse and decorated with HUNDREDS of flowers!

The meal was delicious, the speeches hilarious and touching and the dancing one heck of a good time.
