Wanaka // Summer wedding at Glendhu Bay

Toni & Riley planned to get married in one of their favourite spots - Glendhu Bay. For many Southlanders this camping ground is where families have been migrating to for the summer to enjoy waking up right next to the lake and relaxing in paradise.


They had a few sites booked so there was the main reception space, an areas for games and then the ceremony by the lakefront. Riley & the guys enjoyed a beer and helped with the final set up, meanwhile Toni was in the house getting ready.


Walking down the aisle the wind had whipped up, but the views were spectacular. Riley had the biggest grin when he saw Toni and the pair were laughing and smiling for the rest of the day!


It was a lovely ceremony, with a game of rock, paper, scissors to see who would do their vows first. Afterwards we died some family photos and the it was time to relax in the sun to good music.


Later in the afternoon we whipped away with the bridal party to try and find some shelter from the wind for photos. Walking back to camp this big dark cloud was coming in and it started bucketing with rain. It was all hands on deck to move tables under tents and gets everything out of the weather.


About 40 mins later it had passed and we got blue skies again, just in time for pizza to be served, speeches and off course the dance floor kick off!


The wind even died down enough for Riley to get out the boat that he had been working on with his Dad for the last 6 months. They went for a spin around the lake and half the camp came out to watch with was cool. It was such a fun day with a great group of people.
