Dunedin // Signal Hill + Port Chalmers Town Hall Wedding

Dunedin was blanketed in snow only 48 hours before Brendan & Emma’s wedding day, so we were expecting some cold weather. But, in true South Island form - we went from snow to a warm blue sky day! Spring is such a gamble!

Brendan got ready at home with the guys, who all wore hand knitted ties that Emma made them. She also did shawls for all of the bridesmaids!

There was a lot of thought put into attire for the day with Emma’s 100 year old hairpiece (found at a local vintage store), to the pink dancing shoes, gown, which was made by Sibby one of the bridesmaids, and even a penny to put in her shoe to finish the wedding day rhyme.

The ceremony was held on the grass area at the top of Signal Hill. A large gathering of friends and family watched on while these two said their vows. With a skip and a hop down the aisle, they were married!

We headed off with the bridal party to get some photos in the blossoms and daffodils, before continuing on to Port Chalmers for the reception.

Emma & Brendan are swing dancers and Brendan is a talented musician. He pour together a band for the night featuring a bunch of friends and would jump up and join in for a few numbers himself.

They are a very popular and well loved couple who had so many people stand up and say amazing things about them. The food was delicious. The cake was made by a friend and went down a treat. The first dance was out of this world, with Brendan throwing Emma all over the place! It was a real night of celebration.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Christie! 🥂💃🏼🕺🏼
