It was a real Southland day for Kara & Gordies wedding on Friday! And by that I mean the weather gave us 4 seasons in one day 😅
The original plan was for the pair to be married on this gorgeous outlook high up on Glenfallen Station in Garston. This is Gordie’s family farm and a very meaningful place for him.
Everything was set up but the rain persisted, so they had to bring everything in a mad rush down the hill and set up in one of the calving sheds (they did an amazing job with limited time!)
Kara arrived and walked down the aisle with her Dad & Emilia (Kara & Gordie's daughter) - the big smiles and twinkling eyes said it all! They had a beautiful ceremony, finishing with Emilia doing the cutest little heart melting reading.
Then it was time for lunch! After cutting the cake and speeches the weather had eased off, so we headed up to the top of the farm for photos! The view is just incredible.
A quick stop in at Kingston to get some lakeside photos for Kara & a few moments at the Garston cemetery for Gordie to put a flower on his Mums grave (it was a buttonhole with ‘grooms mother’ written on it 😭). One last pull over at a friends wheat field outside of Athol - what a way to end the day, running through the golden fields! Then we were off to Invercargill for the reception.
A huge grazing table was set up at the Handle Bar in Motorcycle Mecca (such a cool event space!) along with photobooth and a band. It will have been a big night of partying!
Congratulations Mr & Mrs McMillan 🥂
