Waikaka // Colourful Tipi Wedding on the Family Farm

Aimee and Logan had the most insanely cool styling and epic details poured into their gorgeous wedding day!

The weather gods were smiling down and it was a beautiful blue sky day with no wind! (This season has been plagued with extreme winds). The whole thing was happening on the family farm with tipis overlooking the paddocks beyond.

Logan got ready at home with the guys. They played a bit of cards and enjoyed a couple of beers before heading to the venue in a vintage car.

Aimee got ready on site with her bridesmaids. They had a super relaxed morning and I think my favourite part was when they went out to see the whole set up for the first time. Aimee had a custom made gown, with a piece of her mum & grandmothers wedding gowns sewn into the skirt. We did a couple of first looks with Mum, Dad, the bridesmaids and Grandma!

The guests all wore bright, bold colours and it really did have this cool festival vibe to the day! As Aimee walked down the aisle her dog Mitch decided to walk with her too which was super cute. They said beautiful words to each other and finished the ceremony with a shot of tequila, before strutting down the aisle!

The next big surprise landed about 2 minutes later - the parents had organised a surprise helicopter flight to take them to a nearby station for photos. It was a 3 minute flight to a beautiful lookout that gave us endless views over Southland. We had 15 mins to get some photos before arriving back to the venue in style. It’s always cool to see the party from the air - the tipis looked awesome 👌🏼

Taking the vintage cars we whipped away with the bridal party for photos. Finishing in a beautiful sunflower field!

The reception kicked off with mojitos and fruit filled table decor. Speeches were hilarious and you can see why everyone love these two so much. Later in the evening Aimee changed into a short skirt so she could carve up the dance floor! The band kicked off and it was a perfect evening with the fire blazing and festoon lights twinkling.
