Originally Simon & Kate were set to get married in April last year.
Replanning the day around restrictions and the looming question of when will the NZ/AUS travel bubble would open was tough and in the end they decided to just get married with whoever could be there and have another party in AUS when they can get over there.
The whole bridal party got ready in the same house, which made for a super relaxed morning as the temperature skyrocketed in Wanaka!
After a first look and exchanging of gifts, they all enjoyed a cheeky whisky before heading out to Lake Hawea to try and find some shade for photos!
We ended up at a lookout with a big gum tree. It was stunning and the turquoise water below was so blue it didn’t look real.
The ceremony was at Lookout Lodge. Kate & Simon walked down the aisle together and had a beautiful ceremony that was live streamed to family across the world.
Immediately after the cake was cut and they took some time to Sykpe family overseas.
Dinner was served and speeches were made! The best part was Simons surprise video for Kate with a compilation of well wishes from family in Australia. There was not a dry eye in the room ❤️
As the sun started to set they were whisked away for a heli flight to stand on a mountain and soak in the epic views and get a little alone time.
It was not the day they had dreamed of, but it was pretty magical all the same. The best part is, they have a second party to look forward to!! 🥳
