Invercargill // Ascot Park and Kelvin Hotel Wedding

Simone and Royce planned the most amazing Invercargill wedding!

Originally, they were going to be married in Anderson’s Park in front of the house. We had this bizarre week of non - stop rain (in February!) and flooding which ruined those plans. Without a back up option poor Royce had to scramble together an alternative on the day and instead the ceremony was to be held at Ascot Park Hotel.

Simone had been up from 4am with her bridesmaids getting their hair and make - up done. It was going to take a little longer to get ready because the girls were all wearing traditional Thai dress.

It was a busy morning, but everyone was upbeat and laughing, enjoying the process!

Royce got ready with his groomsmen before heading to Ascot Park to wait for his beautiful bride.

The ceremony set up was stunning with a pure white carpet down the aisle and white flowers on either side of the arch.

I almost cried watching Royce’s rection to seeing Simone for the first time. She looked so regal in her gown! They had this beautiful ceremony with these amazing heartfelt vows.

Afterwards we did the family photos inside as the rain poured down.

The bridal party then changed into their second outfits of the day!

We decided to head to Queens Park and get some photos in the Botanical Gardens where at least it would be dry and warm.

Despite the weather everyone was in such good spirits and so happy to be there, it made the afternoon so much fun.

The reception was at the Kelvin Hotel and looked incredible! The speeches were hilarious, and everyone was having such a blast.

When it came time for the first dance, Simone & Royce changed into their final outfits of the night and did a choreographed first dance to a mash up of songs (can everyone do this?!?) it was gold.

It’s not often there is a bouquet/garter toss at weddings anymore, but they did one – which had everyone in stitches. Then the two who got the bouquet and garter had to sit in a chair and have the garter taken off again. I don’t think I have ever laughed so much at a wedding and I'm not sure the photos are entirely appropriate for the internet haha.

Before we left, I sneaked Royce and Simone up to the rooftop for one last photo.

It was such a rad day with good vibes and pure joy all round.
