Caitlin & Rob had an incredible 2 part wedding day last week. With themselves and the majority of their guests flying in from Australia, it made sense to want to spend as much time on the day as possible with everyone. But they also wanted to go on a heli adventure - so decided to do that a couple of days prior!
We had to battle the weather and pull the shoot forward so the girls had to hurry through hair and make up before meeting us at the jetty for a first look. Rob gave Caitlin a beautiful necklace with an A for Addison, their daughter.
In the air we had fluffy white clouds and the lake was a deep blue - I always say that flying into Doubtful Sound is like flying into Jurassic Park. I think jaws were on the floor all around!
The cloud was coming and going but we made the most of Doubtful before heading to Mt Maury on the way home. It’s much flatter here and easier to move around! So they was a champagne pop and drinks.
Caitlin & Rob have these red jackets that they both wear hiking and they had them on when Rob proposed, so thought it would be cool to get some wedding photos with them on too! The mountains provided a sliver of snow which was the e perfect backdrop before the clouds came in. We said goodbye to a cheeky kea and headed home to torrential rain and thunder in Te Anau. Couldn’t have time it better!

So when Saturday rolled around, it was such a relaxed day! With everything happening and staying on site at Fiordland Lodge.
Caitlin & the girls got ready upstairs and the guys got ready in the log cabins out the back.
The ceremony was on the lawn overlooking the surrounding mountains and lake.
The couples Mums walked Addison down the aisle which was super cute before Caitlin and her Dad. They had such a nice ceremony with incredible vows that definitely had a few tears going.
The rest of the afternoon was spent out on the lawn with Espresso Martini’s & Aperol Spritz.
After dinner we snuck outside for the last little bit of golden hour. Then a first dance outside on the lawn as the sun set!
