Te Anau // Campbells Kingdom & Lake Erskine Heli Elopement

Ky & Dennis had the most amazing elopement day in the heart of Fiordland. Coming from the States they also get to tie in an amazing honeymoon exploring the South Island afterwards too!

The day started at Fiordland Lodge, getting ready with lake views and blue skies! Ky & Dennis have two cats (Tulip and Aphrodite) who could only be with them in spirit, so they have soft toys of each of them to travel with & bring along on their adventures.

Dennis had a custom 3 piece suit and Ky a stunning blue gown complete with veil and gloves. The pair looked incredible as they made their way to the helicopter to head to their ceremony location.

Flying into Fiordland is like flying into Jurassic Park - the views are out of this world. Our first stop was Campbells Kingdom, with a giant waterfall as a backdrop.

They had a beautiful ceremony and nailed a couple of bottles of Central Otago Pinot along with letter to each other in a box to open in a years time. They exchanged personalised vows and batted away sandflies before giving rings and signing paperwork to officially become husband and wife!

With such a still and beautiful day, the sandflies were out in full force so we headed straight to Lake Erskine to get away from them and soak in a bit of sun at the turquoise lake.

They cut the cake and popped a bottle of bubbles. We could have stayed here for hours, but had another part of the day and needed to get to Milford Sound (so we ate the cake in the helicopter) as we flew between mountains and had the most incredible scene flight.

Next was a private boat trip at Milford. Rosco took us up close to waterfalls, seal spotting and around the sound. Dennis was in his element of the boat! Then it was back to Te Anau in the helicopter. We had that unreal golden hour light which made the mountains really pop.

Back at the lodge we made the most of the last light of the day and did some final golden hour portraits. It was a BIG day, and we had the best weather possible to really make the most of it. Sometimes everything plays out so perfectly, it was ment to be ❤️

A day I will never forget! Congratulations Ky & Dennis - what a way to start married life! 🥂
